ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned the acting Chairman PEMRA, Pervez Rathore in the PEMRA Case and ordered him to present the details of all the decisions including the one imposing a ban on ARY News – ARY News reports.
According to details, Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi conducted the hearing of the PEMRA Case here on Thursday. The IHC summoned the acting PEMRA Chief on Monday and ordered him to provide the details of all the decisions.
It was said that the court had ordered Pervez Rathore to stop working as PEMRA Chief and directed Rathore to appear before the court and elaborate the matter.
The IHC also sought the details of the decision suspending the license of ARY News.
PEMRA member, Israr Abbasi while talking to ARY News, said that Pervez Rathore is continuously committing court’s contempt.
He said that an acting PEMRA Chairman cannot be appointed as per PEMRA rules and the petitioner Malik Tahir had taken the stance in the court that the appointment is illegal.
Earlier, the IHC while issuing a stay in the PEMRA Case had directed the officials to leave all the PEMRA matters as it is.
