LAHORE: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Tuesday said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan does not have what it takes to run a country, ARY News reported.
He was talking to media in Lahore after meeting the family members of Late PPP leader Jahangir Badar, who passed away this month.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is facing the consequences of his actions and he is benefiting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif .
Khursheed Ahmed Shah said that Khan could not rule the country as he is not eligible to run a government.
“PTI can never come into power as it does not have any economic program for the country,” he said.
“Khan does not have any political experience whatsoever,” Shah said.
The PPP leader said, “The nine-party opposition alliance against the government broke when Khan announced his Islamabad lockdown call.”
Shah said that Imran Khan wants to do one-man shows while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) takes other parties on board. The PPP leader said that his party believes in the Parliament and wants accountability through it.
While paying tribute to the outgoing Army Chief, the Leader of Opposition in National Assembly said that reconsidering the decisions taken by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif will cause damage to the country.
The opposition leader said that prime minister should appoint the new army chief on the basis of seniority, not on “the pick and choose option”.
“COAS General Raheel Sharif took control of the military at a critical phase. It is now time for a senior official to take the reins,” he added.
Khursheed Shah’s scathing criticism of Imran Khan can be seen in the context of the PTI chief’s harsh words against him.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had repeatedly called Khursheed Shah as “Double Shah” in his political rallies and press talks during his recent protest campaign.
The opposition leader said that the government of Pakistan should stand against India but it would not, as there is no difference between Pakistani and Indian Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi.
