ISLAMABAD: Questioning Intelligence Bureau (IB) head’s reported meetings with ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif during the latter’s stay in London, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan asked the former to resign immediately.

“IB head must resign immediately. What was he doing visiting a disqualified PM in London over 4 days at taxpayers expense?” PTI chief Imran Khan questioned in a tweet.

In another tweet, he said, “IB head is an official of the State paid for by taxpayers. His duty is to the state not the Sharif family.”

Khan said, “Equally alarming is the IB’s role in abetting NS (Nawaz Sharif) by creating grounds for blackmailing his MNAs into falling in line.”

He further said, “This is how state institutions are destroyed by a mafia breaking all laws and democratic norms.”

In programme “Power Play” on ARY News, it was disclosed that Nawaz Sharif has tasked IB head to conduct an inquiry against those parliamentarians who were vocal in their criticism of the PML-N and the federal government and had relations with proscribed outfits.

The parliamentarians associated with PML-N were also among those whose past track-record were investigated to look for their alleged connections with banned outfits.
