PM Khan has no control over ministers, claims Shah

SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday slammed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, saying it is exhibiting a non-serious attitude despite the opposition’s assurance of full cooperation in resolving the issues facing the country.

Addressing a press conference at his Sukkur residence, the PPP leader claimed Prime Minister Imran Khan does not have any control over his federal ministers and that they does not care about what they say.

Khursheed Shah said the PTI pledged to give 10 million jobs after coming to power, but it is instead terminating government employees now.

There was a talk that the prime minister will not reside in the spacious PM House, but he is not only living there, but enjoying protocol as well as all privileges, the PPP leader said.

He said there doesn’t seem to be any change which the PTI had been bragging about. In fact, a change has truly come as helicopter’s fare has come down to a mere Rs50, he taunted the government.

Shah said they appreciated the government’s plan to construct as many as 5 million houses for low-income people, but nothing would happen in this regard. It would be better if the government provides interest free loans to the deserving people, he suggested.

He said they supported the construction of dams in the country from day one but opposed the controversial ones.

Shah said if Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar is so earnest in his initiative with regard to dams, he should direct the government to allocate 15 per cent of the budget for the purpose.

He skirted a question about the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) having launched an inquiry against him for allegedly owning assets beyond his known sources of income.
