PM gave a principled statement on Indian threats: Fawad

MARDAN: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, on Saturday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has already given a principled stance over threats from Indian government, ARY News reported. 

The information minister, while informally interacting with journalists said the world could easily witness who was seeking peace and who was consistently rising tensions.

“Even the United States (US) decided to find resolution of Afghanistan issue through dialogues,” Hussain added.

On February 19, the Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear that Pakistan will retaliate in case, if India starts a war in the wake of Pulwama Attack.

While giving a policy statement over the Pulwama attack in the occupied Kashmir that killed nearly 40 Indian army personnel on Feb 14, the premier responded sternly to India’s blame game against Pakistan.

“I have been hearing and seeing on Indian media that their politicians are calling for revenge from Pakistan. If India attacks, then Pakistan will not think but retaliate,” he cautioned.

Later, the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, chaired by the premier Imran Khan, made a categorical assertion that any aggression from India will be responded befittingly on February 21.

Tensions among both countries arise post suicide attack on a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway that killed more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and the attacker at Lethpora in the Pulwama district of India-Ocuupied Jammu and Kashmir on February 14 while responsibility of the attack was claimed by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
