Imran Khan’s Karachi press conference

The PTI chief lamented the deaths arising as a result of the heatwave which had gripped Karachi during the last week. He questioned the absence of governance in Sindh and questioned their performance in tackling the grim situation.

“The royal Zardari family is in Dubai — not one of them is in Karachi”, stated Imran. Lamenting the fact that everything in Karachi was hostage to a particular mafia, Imran also said that Karachiites should be given control of their own affairs. He also said that everyone in Karachi was pointing fingers at one another and blaming each other.

“Corruption has spelt doom for governance in Sindh,” said Khan.

The PTI chief also did not desist from taking shots at PML-N and stated that the metro bus project made in Ahmadabad cost just a third of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metro bus project. He also targeted Water and Power Minister Khwaja Asif by telling him to have some self-respect and resign.

“Kuch sharam karo, thodi haya kero,” said Imran.

Imran also said that it was tragic to see that every time Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif’s ill gotten gains were brought under investigation, both of them took the cover of democracy to save themselves.

The PTI chief also took to task MQM leader Altaf Hussain and said that back in 2003, a couple of Indian journalists had told him privately that Altaf Hussain had been invited to India on the invitation of RAW. He also stated that receiving funds from RAW was tantamount to treason and that if the BBC report was untrue, MQM could file a claim against the channel.

Imran Khan’s visit to JPMC

Imran reached the hospital with a large number of his supporters thronging him. The large presence of people caused hindrance to the patients, who were undergoing treatment.

Imran Khan inquired after the health of patients suffering from heatstroke at the hospital and stated that he would advocate for them through every available forum.
