ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday predicted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz led government may not complete its tenure.

Speaking to media here, Imran Khan emphasized that the next general elections should not get delayed for any reason.

Khan also claimed that many of the PML-N leaders did not side with Nawaz Sharif facing trial on graft charges and distanced themselves from the ruling party chief.

Later in a statement on his Twitter account, the PTI chief slammed his arch-rival former prime minister, saying, “The Royal Sharif Mafia is trying to steer their trial through VIP-style diversionary tactics based on technicalities so the substantive issue of their Rs 300 bn money laundering is avoided.”

“But the more they use these tactics the more ppl[people] of Pak[istan] are convinced of their corruption,” he continued.

A day earlier, an anti-terrorism court granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in cases related to the attack on the Pakistan Television (PTV) and then SSP Islamabad (Operations) Asmatullah Junejo during the 2014 sit-in in the capital city.

After his perpetual absence from the proceedings and issuance of non-bailable warrants for his arrest by the court, the PTI chief finally surrendered before the court.
