Imran kicks-off anti polio drive in KP

NAUSHEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan has inaugurated a 3-day anti-polio drive in the province – ARY News reports.

According to details, the PTI Chairman kicked-off the anti-polio campaign by administering the vaccination drops to the children at the Civil Hospital Akora Khattak, Naushehra.

On this occasion, CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak, Provincial Health Minister Shaukat Yousufzai, PTI leader Jehangir Tareen and numerous others were also accompanied the skipper.

Addressing the ceremony in this regard, Khan said that if we do not take precautionary measures against polio today, then a time will come that nobody from this region could go abroad.

He appealed the parents to let their children get anti-polio drops every time the team visits them.

The PTI Chairman declared the ones attacking the polio-teams and security personnel, as the enemies of the nation, Islam and humanity.

Pakistan is one of only three countries in the world where polio remains endemic, and efforts to stamp it out have been hit by opposition from Islamist militants and attacks on vaccination teams.
