Imran to apprise Cabinet members of China agreements

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned the meeting of Federal Cabinet on Thursday in which he will apprise the members of agreements reached during his China visit, ARY News reported.

PM Khan first informed the National Security Committee about his ‘successful’ China visit on Tuesday and subsequently he decided to take the Cabinet into confidence in this regard.

Imran Khan returned to Pakistan after official visit to China on Tuesday, in which both the countries inked several cooperation agreements and memorandum of understandings.

Pakistan and China have signed 15 agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) for cooperation in diverse fields.

Agreements relating to poverty alleviation in Pakistan and strengthening of cooperation in agriculture, industrial sectors and technical training were also signed by the two sides.

The two countries signed an MoU for cooperation in forestry, earth sciences and transfer of electronics.

One agreement was signed between Higher Education of Pakistan and Science Academy of China whilst another was signed between Chinese Academy of Science and Pakistan Meteorological Department.

During his address at the Pakistan Trade and Investment Conference 2018 in Shanghai, PM Khan said Pakistan would like to follow the model of China in poverty alleviation and eradication of corruption to put the country on the path of progress and development.
