SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, condemned the Indian rulers for launching a character assassination campaign against the Hurriyat leadership, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported on Saturday.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, Ali Gilani deplored the issuance of series of notices from Indian investigating agencies like National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate, to the Hurriyat leaders and their family members including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and others.
He also denounced the inhuman treatment meted out to the Kashmiri prisoners in jails while appealing to the world human rights bodies to send their teams to visit jails in India and occupied Kashmir and take stock of the miserable plight of the Kashmiri detainees.
Meanwhile, KMS reported a complete shutdown was observed in Islamabad district on the second consecutive day, today, to mourn the killing of two youth, Burhan-ud-Din Ganai and Safdar Amin by Indian troops in Bijbehara town, yesterday.
The occupation authorities deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Islamabad and Bijbehara towns to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations.
