'India committed 178 ceasefire violations at LoC, working boundary'

ISLAMABAD: Indian forces committed 178 ceasefire violations at Line of Control and Working boundary this year due to which 19 civilians embraced martyrdom and 80 others were injured, a delegation of United Nations Military Observer Group was told Tuesday.

A group of UNMOGIP visited the line of control near Kotli on Tuesday and obtained first-hand information of Indian high-handedness of targeting civil population near the line of control.

“During this year 11 civlians have embraced shahadat due to unprovoked Indian firing and 29 were seriously injured.
8 civilian embraced martyrdom at working boundary near Sialkot and Shakargarh and 51 were seriously injured due to Indian unprovoked firing since January 2016,” ISPR said in a statement.

The military’s media wing also provided some pictures of civilians who were injured due to Indian firing.
