TOP NEWS

NEW DELHI: An Indian court has issued arrest warrants for Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for hurting sentiments of Hindu through an advertisement, ARY News reported Tuesday.

The case was registered against MS Dhoni for appearing as god “Vishnu”in an advertisement of potato chips in a magazine. The ad drew strong wrath of Hindu nationalists and they filed a case against Dhoni.

A court in Andhra Pradesh issued summons to Indian captain three times, but the cricketer neither responded nor turned up before the court. The court subsequently issued bailable arrest warrants and summoned him on July 16.

Dhoni yesterday had left for a series in England, however experts are of the view that court would have to wait until the Indian skipper returned home.
