Indian forces target school van across LoC, driver martyred

RAWALPINDI: Indian forces on Thursday targeted a van carrying school children in Battal sector along the Line of Control, stated the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the military’s press wing, Indian ‘unethical and unprofessional’ approach across LoC continues terrorising civilians, and is severe violation of the Geneva Convention and ceasefire understanding.

The school van driver embraced martyrdom in the incident. A girl student narrating the incident said that they were coming from Battal to Dharamsal when the firing occurred.

The students thought the vehicle was struck, but the firing had hit the school van’s driver named Sarfaraz. The students started screaming as there was no one present after which local residents came to their assistance.

The van driver had died on the spot and was later taken to a hospital. The girl was a student of Government Degree College, and said they were coming from Battal to Dharamsal.
