Indian high commissioner to Pakistan comes back to Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria will come back to Islamabad on Saturday (today).

Spokesperson of Indian Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said, “High Commissioner of India to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria, is returning to Islamabad after having completed his consultations in India. He will reach Islamabad on March 9, 2019 and resume his duties.”

Bisaria had been summoned to New Delhi a day following the Feb 14 Pulwama attack in which more than 40 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed.

On February 18, Pakistan had also called back its high commissioner to India for consultations in the same regard.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood is also scheduled to return to New Delhi today.

Pakistani envoy Mahmood called on Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday to take the premier’s advice on bilateral ties with India before his departure to New Delhi.

The situation between the neighbouring countries turned hostile in a tit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack in occupied Kashmir.

In a response to Indian aggression of Feb 26 at the Line of Control, two fighter jets of Indian Air Force were shot down by Pakistan Air Force in broad day light on Feb 27.

South Asian giant, Pakistan, hit the Indian targets as a demonstration of its defense capability towards the Indian provocation, said the head of Pakistan’s military media wing Major General Asif Ghafoor.
