KASHMIR: An Indian soldier killed his senior colleague after the latter caught him using a mobile phone while on duty in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.

Local media reports said Major Shikhar Thapa, posted with the 8 Rashtriya Rifles, an Indian army’s elite counterinsurgency unit, was shot dead in Uri sector by a colleague following altercation over using mobile phone on duty.

Uri sector is close to the restive Line of Control (LoC) which divided the Himalayan region between the Pakistan and India occupied Kashmir.
