RAWALPINDI: Indian troops carried out ‘unprovoked firing’ in Zafarwal sector along th Working Boundary on Monday morning.

Pakistan Rangers Punjab effectively responded to the Indian firing at Zafarwal sector of the Working Boundary and silenced the enemy’s guns, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the statement, the Indian troops opened fire at Lambarial and Akram Shaheed posts in Zafarwal sector on the Working Boundary but Punjab Rangers with an effective response silenced the Indian guns.

After a spell of silence, Indian troops had engaged in unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Khanjar sector last week.

Indian forces have violated the ceasefire several times along the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) in recent times, resulting in immense loss of lives and property.
