ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said that the investigations of the NICL Corruption Case are ongoing with complete transparency. It was further stated that to summon any individual does not mean that he is accused in the case – ARY News reports.

In a statement issued on Friday, NAB said that to summon an individual is not based upon the political affiliation of that person, nor it means that the individual is accused in the case.

It was stated that the summons can be issued to anyone related to the case, under the prescribed law. Investigations are aimed at bringing the accused before the law and to safeguard the innocent.

NAB further stated that the investigations of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) are underway as per the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Earlier on Thursday, the investigation team of NAB had summoned former prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gillani for recording his statement in the NICL Case.
