Indonesian envoy calls on Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stressed the need for deepening economic and trade ties with Indonesia in a meeting with Indonesian envoy, ARY News reported.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan met Shahbaz at the chief minister house where they discussed matters of mutual interest and enhancing bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif stressed the need for enhancing economic and trade relations between the two countries. He said the exchange of delegations between the two countries would foster bilateral economic ties.

In his remarks, the Indonesian envoy said his country desired to enhance cooperation with the province in various fields, including agricultural products.

Yesterday, China and the Punjab government had signed an agreement for setting up a 1263-megawatt LNG-fueled power plant in Jhang district.

The project will be completed in twenty-six months, and it will start generating 810 MW within 14 months, officials said.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said load-shedding of electricity will be eliminated forever due to concrete measures being taken by the PML (N) government.
