Investors’ confidence increased due to peace in Pakistan: President Alvi

ISLAMABAD: Paying tribute to the armed forces and the nation for their unmatched sacrifices rendered in war against terrorism, President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday said that confidence of overseas investors increased due to the restoration of peace in the country.

Addressing business leaders’ summit in Islamabad, President Arif Alvi said that Pakistan had successfully defeated the menace of terrorism due to  the efforts of security forces and it has embarked on a path of development.

He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government was providing all out facilities to domestic and foreign investors by ensuring ease of doing business, eradication of corruption and transparency in the country.

President Dr Arif Alvi said that the current government was providing equal and attractive investment opportunities to the foreign businessmen.

He said that Pakistan is a peace loving county and added that in the recent tension, they gave a message of peace to the neighboring country.

The president termed peace in Afghanistan essential for regional development and stability. He said that religious extremism and intolerance in India were major threats for regional peace.

Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi, on March 5 had said that Pakistan offered immense potential of trade and investment in the country and a secure and friendly atmosphere for the investors.

Addressing the Annual Ambassadors’ Dinner hosted by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad, the president had said Pakistan has sacrificed a lot to overcome the menace of terrorism.
