RAWALPINDI: The military’s public affairs wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, has rejected an Indian claim of destroying four Pakistani check-posts along the Line of Control.

The Indian army claimed that it had destroyed four Pakistani military posts on Saturday in the latest escalation of tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

According to ISPR, four civilians were injured in the unprovoked firing by Indian forces in Shakargarh, Harpal and Phulkian sectors.

Meanwhile, Indian army’s Northern Command said in a statement on its Twitter account late on Saturday that: “Four Pak posts destroyed in massive fire assault in Keran Sector. Heavy casualties inflicted.” However the claim was categorically rejected by the Pakistan army.

ISPR said Indian forces were constantly violating the ceasefire agreement since Saturday and open unprovoked fire along the border intermittently.
