BEIJING: The Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Thursday expressed its satisfaction over the progress on major projects relating to energy cooperation and transport infrastructure.
The committee stressed on the need to speed up the work on projects related to Gwadar and industrial cooperation.
The JCC meeting, co-chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Vice Chairman National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) China Wang Xiaotao, held in Beijing.
Minister for Railway Khawaja Saad Rafique, Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak, CM Balochistan Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, CM Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Chairman Board of Investment Dr Miftah Ismail also attended the meeting.

According to a press release issued by Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, Pakistan and China signed new agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) on Thursday regarding transport infrastructure, Gwadar and transmission line under the CPEC.
Pakistani and Chinese delegates also discussed progress on a long-term plan for CPEC, energy cooperation, transport infrastructure, Gwadar and industrial cooperation while finding a way forward for the effective and timely implementation of various projects.
Both sides underscored the significance of the CPEC for both countries to integrate with regional economies and become a model for a win-win cooperation.
It was also decided in the meeting that the next and 7th JCC meet would be held in Islamabad next year on dates to be finalised later.
