JI, PTI to contest LB Polls in Karachi with mutual sign: Munawwar

LAHORE: Jamat e Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will contest the Local Bodies (LB) Elections in Karachi with a joint electoral sign, said the JI Ameer, Syed Munawwar Hassan on Thursday – ARY News reports.

Talking to the news editors and chiefs of various news agencies here, Munawwar Hassan said that his party is well aware of the losses earned due to the boycott of elections and vowed that the issues of the people of Karachi will be resolved through its alliance with PTI there.

Commenting on the performance of the Federal Government, he said that it has no strategy for addressing the problems of the people and despite of a consensus of all the political parties, the Government is still reluctant to negotiate with Taliban.

He added that perhaps the Government is waiting for a 'go ahead' from the United States in this regard.

Speaking about Mulla's execution in Bangladesh, the JI Ameer expressed his grief saying that Abdul Qadir Mulla sacrificed his life for Pakistan, in future people will ponder upon time and again before supporting the military.
