SRINGAR, INDIAN-HELD KASHMIR: Indian forces on Tuesday arrested leader the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik from Shopian district of Indian-held Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Watch, Malik was taken into custody outside the Jamia Masjid in Shopian as he came out of the mosque after offering afternoon prayers.

Malik had visited a pellet victim Insha Mushtaq and the family of a teen killed in the ongoing uprising, and had arrived in Shopian at midnight.

Malik was arrested previously on July 30 after a new wave of agitation started after the killing of Kashmiri militant leader Burhan Wani. He was held in custody and arbitrary detention for more than 105 days.

He was admitted to a hospital after suffering a severe infection in his arm on October 21, after being administered a wrong injection.  He was shifted back to jail by Indian Army and was subsequently released.

The restive valley has brutal atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces which has killed at least 116 Kashmiris, most of them young protesters, and more than 12,000 people have been injured in clashes with Indian security forces.
