There is nothing better a lazy Sunday when can you beat a day at home relaxing, refreshing your mind, body and soul, and relieving stress.

Now just imagine if you were actually paid for it?

Researchers at France’s space medical institute are looking for 24 healthy, young men to lie down and do absolutely nothing for two months.

Each successful candidate will receive €16,000 (around £13,600).

The researchers want to reproduce microgravity, which is the state of virtual weightlessness, and study its effects on the human body.

Successful candidates should be physically fit and active, aged between 20 and 45. They should be non-smokers with no allergies, and a body mass index of between 22 and 27.

They will undergo two weeks of tests, and will then be asked to lie in bed for sixty days! They will also eat, wash, and do other vital bodily functions over there.

The rules are strict: candidates must lie down at all times. After two months, candidates will undergo another two weeks of tests.

The researchers want to study the effects of this on the body, how to overcome them, which can help astronauts on their return to earth.

Dr. Arnaud Beck, the coordinating physician of the study, told 20 Minutes News that candidates can experience low blood pressure and vertigo, as well as a weakened immune system.
