If news reports from an Indian website are to be believed, then Juhi Chawla certainly knows how to flex her muscles, when it comes to producing a flick. Reportedly the actress kicked out veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee for his looks, from the sets of her upcoming film Chalk and Duster.
According to details, the Bollywood actress (who will be serving as producer of this flick) was not aware that Manoj Bajpayee had been hired to play the role of a quizmaster in this flick. As a result, Manoj had been present on the sets of the film since the very first day.
However, when Juhi was informed that Bajpayee was to essay the role of the quizmaster, she was not happy. The actress thought that Manoj Bajpayee looked too poor to play a quizmaster, hence she had him sacked. It was then decided that Rishi Kapoor would play the role of the quizmaster, for which Manoj was dropped.
Chalk and Duster is a movie about a teacher and child communication. The role of the quizmaster is hence set to be an integral part of the flick.
This seems to be the first incident of its kind that involves Juhi Chawla. Throughout her 25 year-long career, the Bollywood actress was never accused of throwing a tantrum or being hostile with any of her co-stars on sets. Juhi enjoys the reputation of a humble and down-to-earth human being.
So far, neither Juhi Chawla nor Manoj Bajpayee have confirmed the news of the latter’s sacking. However, it seems that Juhi Chawla can certainly have a firm grasp when it comes to being a producer of a film!
