Kalash tribal member makes it to KP Assembly for the first time

CHITRAL: First time in the history of Pakistan Chitral District’s minority tribe Kalash has a representation in the Provincial Assembly.

Wazir Zada a member of the Kalash tribe will sit on a reserved minority seat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Zada has graduated will a political science degree and has also been an enthusiastic party worker as well as a human rights activist.

In last year’s census, Peshawar High Court ordered that Kalaash Tribe’s religion should also be listed in the form.

According to unofficial results, PTI has won 116 of NA seats and it has also been able to achieve the highest number of seats in KPK.

The party, however, has never won a single seat in Chitral in any general or by-election.
