The robot being used for bomb-sweeping at the central procession started from Numaish Chowrangi to conclude at Kharadar.
The British made robot worth million rupees could also defuse improvised explosive devices (IEDs) upto 1000 kg. Four cameras and a rifle gun has been installed in the machine that is being used first time in Pakistan for security.
The control room of the robot has been in a police van gifted by America to Sindh Police.
The robot identifies explosive material through an x-ray machine whereas rifle gun is used for unlocking. Due to its short height, the robot can easily search under footpath and cars.
Moreover, not only the identification of explosive material has been made easier by the robot rather, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) does not need to take any risks during the bomb defusing process.
