Fraudsters selling animals with fake teeth in Karachi’s cattle market

KARACHI: A truck loaded with cattle having fake teeth fit snugly into their mouths was seized on Thursday here in the temporary cow ‘mandi’ in Karachi while the market administration has arrested their trader and informed the police, ARY News reported.

The criminals involved in forgery did not even spare the occasion of religious importance and faked teeth of bovine animals.

According to ARY News correspondent Anjum Wahab, the forgers fit marble teeth in calves’ mouth, that were not eligible to be slaughtered on Eid-ul-Adha, to deceive people who are looking for grown up animals.

The administration of the biggest cattle market of Asia in Sohrab Goth area took action and impounded 11 ox/ cows on a complaint received from a buyer. The administration also recovered the buyer’s money from trader.

The cattle and their owner will be handed over to police, whom will decide whether the culprit would be jailed in forgery case or any other case of fraudulence.

Some traders also reportedly fit fake horns on animals’ heads to make them look beautiful.

The cattle markets across the country are in full swing as Eid is just around the corner and people are thronging to buy sacrificial animals.
