Karachi: Doctor gunned down in 'sectarian' attack

KARACHI: A doctor was killed and another person injured in firing near Federal B. Area of the city, ARY News reported Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as a professional doctor, named Syed Qasim Abbas.

The incident occurred near Yousuf Plaza, Federal B. Area when the doctor along with another person was driving a car. Police said two miscreants came on a bike and opened fire on a vehicle, thus killing Dr. Abbas on the spot while injuring his companion. He was heading home from his clinic when armed men targeted him. 

Police suspect ‘sectarian’ reason behind targeted killing of the doctor.

The dead and the injured were shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.
