“Karachi Kings held a fabulous tournament”, governor Sindh, mayor Karachi laud cricket event


KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail on Friday lauded Karachi Kings for successfully organising ‘Sindh Ke Shehzade’ tournament at Naya Nazimabad in the city, ARY News reported.

“The journey of Karachi Ke Shehzade tournament has now reached Sindh Ke Shehzade. It was a huge pleasure to witness such an event,” the governor said.

Karachi Kings President Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan cricket team captain Younis Khan, Group Director ARY Digital Network Mehboob Abdul Rauf were also present among others on the occasion.

Mr. Ismail also hailed business tycoons Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and Arif Habib for their efforts in this regard.

The governor said children of Karachi should get more such sports grounds for recreational activities.

In his remarks, mayor Karachi said such events would give birth to new talent.

He said the local government would support every effort to promote sports in Karachi. Such events should continue in the city, he added.

Earlier during the match, Karachi Ke Shehzade team defeated Hyderabad Ke Shehzade by five wickets.

Karachi achieved the target of 141 runs in 19th over.

Inaugural ceremony of ‘Karachi Kings — Sindh Ke Shehzade Cricket Tournament’ was held on September 9.

Five teams, comprised of 75 players, vied for the trophy from September 9 to 14. HSJ Nawabshah Ke Shehzade, Igloo Sukkur Ke Shehzade, Bridge Power Hyderabad Ke Shehzade, Hawk Mirpurkhas Ke Shehzade and Homage Karachi Ke Shehzade were the participating teams in the tournament.
