Karachi stands deprived as intercity fares reduced in Sindh

TOP NEWS

According to details, passengers will now have to pay seven percent less fare in case of travelling to other cities from Karachi, yet fare will be the same as earlier for travelling from one place to another within the city.

Although the government cut short POL prices, but the residents of Karachi are unable to receive its fruits, nor the prices of commodities like milk, vegetables, pulses and flour could be reduced, which shows the regulatory authorities here are all ineffective.

The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also written a letter to all the chief ministers, advising them to make efforts to provide the relief of reduction in petroleum prices to the people.

But, the Government of Sindh like the past turned a blind eye and the people of Karachi stand deprived of any good of the decline in petroleum prices.

The Karachi Transport Ittehad has openly stated that no cut will be made in fares of public transport here, for the lowering of POL prices does not make any difference to it.

Moreover, not even a single word came by Sindh Minister of Transportation, Mumtaz Jakhrani in opposition of the unjust decision directly affecting nearly 2 crore population of Karachi.
