Karachi Vegetable Traders ultimatum to government

Karachi: Sabzi Mandi traders in Karachi have given an ultimatum of 15 December to resolve the issues of load shedding, water, electricity, gas and other problems to the government, ARY News reported.

Karachi Vegetable Traders Association has stated that if the issues are not resolved then the business activities will be shut down and protest movement will be staged.

A meeting and protest was held at super highway new sabzi Mandi in this regard.

While addressing the meeting, Haji Behram, the chairman of the Karachi Vegetable Traders Association has said that the vegetable market is facing numerous difficulties for the past 13 years. The incidents of dacoit, load shedding, extortion and kidnapping for ransom are common.

Lala rahim another member of the association said that electricity and water thieves have no place in vegetable market now. Lala rahim said that in the Market Committee and in Sabzi Mandi injustice won’t be tolerated.

He further added that, KESC should provide electricity directly to the traders as they are willing to pay the legal bills.
