Karachiites have heaviest responsibility in PTI’s fight against mafias: Imran Khan

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday said the PTI was not fighting political parties, but it was fighting mafias and the people of Karachi had the heaviest responsibility to shoulder its struggle, ARY News reported.

“People of Karachi, you are the most politically literate people. All major political movements have sparked from Karachi,” he said while addressing a massive crowd in Bagh-e-Jinnah, Karachi.

Reminding people of Karachi of the time when the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) used to rule the city through terror, he said when he first tried establishing the party in Karachi, MQM was at its peak of hooliganism.

“There was also time when we would go out for campaigning in Karachi and people would send us ‘wazeefay’ (scripture) to recite so we come back safe and sound.”

The PTI also spoke about the hooliganism in Sindh. He said in Sindh there was no influential person willing to join us without assurance of security of his life.

“The extent of hooliganism in Sindh is evident from Uzair Baloch’s confession that he actually killed people on Zardari and Faryal Talpur’s behest.”

He said Uzair also confessed that houses surrounding the Bilawal House were vacated forcefully.

Soliciting residents of the megapolis, he said on 25th, you have to vote the ideology. You don’t have to see which candidate it was, he added.

“The condition of Karachi’s and interior Sindh’s some areas is worst than 5,000 yrs old Mohen jo Daro even. That’s how rampant corruption here is. Karachi, you are the most aware and literate. You have a golden chance to change the fate of this entire country,” he said.

Lashing out at the PPP and MQM for their sheer negligence towards the city, Imran Khan said the PPP was least interested about Karachi and the MQM, whom people used to vote, always said, “We don’t have authority”. Then, where would Karachiites go, he asked.

Condemning the suicide attack in DI Khan which killed PTI candidate Ikramullah Khan, he said, “Today I want to say it on record, the wave of terrorism that we face till date, was due to Pakistan’s unwilling participation in someone else’s war.

“From now on, Pakistan will never become a part of someone else’s war. We had nothing to do with 9/11. No Pakistani was involved yet we pay the heaviest price till date.”
