KARACHI: A trader of Karach,i Rehman Bhola is in deep trouble for being namesake of key suspect in Baldia Town factory fire incident, ARY News reported.

His parents had named him Abdul Rehman and would lovingly call him Bhola which has put him in hot waters.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had put Muttahida Qaumi Movement official Rehman Bhola’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL) because of which that trader also could not travel abroad.

The trader appealed in the Sindh High Court (SHC) adopting stance that it was clearly evident through his mother’s identity card that he was not the suspect of Baldia incident, still he was not given permission to travel abroad.

The court has summoned federal secretary of interior ministry, FIA and attorney general in the case.

Nearly 250 people burnt to death after a horrific blaze erupted in the factory in September 2012. The government formed a Joint Investigation Team to thoroughly investigate the matter, which had later made startling revelations.

Tthe JIT report stated that MQM sector in-charge Rehman alias Bhola and Hammad Siddiqui had demanded Rs200 million extortion from owners of the factory.

Rehman Bhola last year in December confessed his offence before the investigators and named Hammad on whose orders he set the factory ablaze.
