Karan Johar recently played a villain in the Anurag Kashyap film Bombay Velvet alongside Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. He has propelled Bollywood actors such as Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidhart Malhotra to international film via his Dharma Productions company. Johar is known to be a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan and has also cast Shah Rukh in a couple of movies, all which have gone on to become successful.
