KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has requested National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase power tariffs by 45 paisas per unit, ARY News reports.
The request has been made due to the fuel adjustment charges for the month of April. The fuel costs from the Independent Power Producers had increased to 86 crores.
The application submitted by KESC will be approved by 12th December.
637 million were spent on fuel expenses in the month of October for the energy production whereas the expenses on the KESC power plants were less that 225 million.
