MIRANSHAH: A key commander of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed in fighting between two rival factions of militants in North Waziristan tribal region, ARY News reported on Thursday.

In a gunbattle between Taliban factions in Hurmiz village of tehsil Mir Ali Commander Ashiqullah Mehsud was killed.

The incident said to be the result of rivalry between Khan Said Sajna and Shehryar Mehsud groups. Sajna has parted ways with the TTP after suspension from the group.

According to sources Ashiqullah Mehsud was the main commander of the TTP and was considered the master trainer of suicide bombers after the death of Qari Hussain Mehsud.
