ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Wednesday endorsed the remarks of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on calls for a separate province in Sindh.

“Those are cursed who talk about dividing Sindh,” Shah remarked while speaking on the floor of the house.

Slamming the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), he said the party has been groping for help as sometimes it bowed before the PML-N and at other times before PTI.  But no one will come to its rescue this time around, he said.

While referring to the bloody clashes on May 12, 2007, Shah alleged that MQM members acting on a single order by a military ruler mercilessly shot people dead and then they are the ones who cry for disparities.

“Karachi is ours; it is not the property of anyone,” opposition leader remarked.

On Tuesday, CM Sindh delivered a three-hour long farewell speech in Sindh Assembly. In a verbal outburst, he cursed those who were making demands of a separate province in Sindh.

He said, “Allegations were hurled on us that we made remarks pertaining to splitting Sindh into two provinces. I hereby reject these accusations”.

Earlier today, MQM-P leader Dr. Farooq Sattar denounced the CM Sindh’s remarks and clarified that unlike CM Sindh, he will not curse but condemn his remarks that hurt the sentiments of the Muhajir community.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) policies have already de facto divided Sindh, therefore, before cursing anyone’s opinion, it should evaluate its actions, he said.

He has announced to stage protest in Liaquatabad if the chief minister does not apologize for his comments within 48 hours.
