The Home and Tribal Affairs Department of Balochistan has released the inquiry report of the judicial commission formed by Chief Minister Dr Malik Baloch headed by Justice Noor Muhammad Maskanzai of the Balochistan High Court to conduct an inquiry into the mass graves in the Totak area of Khuzdar district.

No witness has recorded any statement against the armed forces  security agencies and the government and no evidence of involvement of agencies found in connection with the mass graves, the report said.

According to postmortem reports the bodies found from graves were as old as three to six months and six to eight months.

The report, however, said that it was the core responsibility of the administration to protect the lives and properties of the people, and that the recovery of mass graves was the result of negligence on part of the civil administration.

A shepherd had spotted the grave in Khuzdar’s Totak area in January 2014.
