King Charles is set to host the German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his three-day state visit in December.
The Royal Family took to their Instagram account on Monday, October 13, to announce that the 76-year-old monarch will host the German leader and the First Lady, Frau Elke Büdenbender alongside Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle from December 3 to December 5.
“The President of Germany, accompanied by Frau Büdenbender, will pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom, hosted by His Majesty The King, from Wednesday 3rd December to Friday 5th December,” a statement by Buckingham Palace reads.
The palace further added that additional details about the visit will be revealed in due course.
This will mark as the first state visit by a German president in 27 years, and the fifth since 1958.
Two years ago, King Charles visited Germany for what was his first official overseas trip after he ascended to the throne in September 2023.
It will be the third state visit hosted by Kibi Charles and Queen Camilla this year as he previously welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron in July, and U.S. President Donald Trump in September.
King Charles has maintained a busy schedule of official engagements amid his ongoing battle with an unspecified form of cancer, which he made public in February 2024.
