'KP women police actively participating in anti-terrorism operations'

PESHAWAR: Women police have been actively participating in anti-terrorism operations and they even sacrificed their precious lives like their male counterparts in the line of duty, Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police stated in a release.

As many as, 69 ladies commandos of KP police are performing their duties shoulder-to-shoulder with policemen, after successful completion of Elite Commandos Training.

As per details, women police are playing pivotal role in elimination of terrorism and control of crime along with their counterpart policemen.

Viewing the ongoing war on terror, most of the ladies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police voluntarily opted to get the toughest and sophisticated Elite Commandos Training.

To achieve this goal, a contingent of 34 ladies police were selected for the said training which got completed with the four-month rigorous training in which they surpassed all different phases of training successfully.

The 2nd contingent of 35 ladies police commandos also passed out from the Joint Elite Police Training Center Nowshera while the 3rd batch of ladies commandos will become part of Elite Ladies commandos very soon.

The 69 ladies police commandos are taking actively partcipating in all sorts of operations and raids being carried out in different parts of the province against hardcore terrorists and criminals involved in heinous crimes, said the press release.

It may be recalled that two ladies police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police one each from Nowshera and Swat district rendered sacrifice of their lives in the line of duty.

Viewing the important role of women police in maintenance of law and order, the ratio of women police in the force has been increased from 2 to 10 percent.

A total of 682 women police are performing duties which also include two PSPs ladies police officers and 7 DSPs, the PR KP police said.

“Similarly, three women desks have been established for mitigating the suffering of women folk. Like policemen, ladies police are also performing in all kinds of security duties ranging from duties at security check posts, operations, raids, shopping centers, traffic, investigation, training institutions and security of courts etc,” it added.
