Kubra, Mehwish Hayat case: Court seeks progress report from FIA

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday sought a progress report from the Deputy Director of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding defamation petition of actresses Mehwish Hayat and Kubra Khan, ARY News reported.

Actresses Mehwish Hayat and Kubra Khan have filed a petition against Adil Farooq Raja alleging the actresses’ character assassination in a video, which is still present online.

The SHC took notice of the matter and expressed displeasure over the non-appearance of the investigation officer in court.

Advocate Khawaja Naveed, representing the actresses, stated that despite filing paperwork, no action has been taken so far to remove the material.

However, the court has requested a report from the Deputy Director of the FIA regarding the matter.

The court has postponed the hearing of the petitions until August 15, giving the authorities time to investigate the matter.
