LAHORE: The death toll in Lahore police firing incident at Minhajul Quran headquarters reached to 12 as one injured succumbed to injuries in hospital, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Police opened fire outside the Central Secretariat of Minhajul Quran International in the Model Town area of Lahore on Tuesday. As many as eight people including two women were killed in the clash and dozens others were injured in the bloody episode.

The funeral prayers of six deceased were offered in Lahore, while two dead bodies of two victims were sent to their native places.

Police registered FIR of the incident against the workers of Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek.

Police removed the name of Hussain Mohiuddin, son of Dr Tahirul Qadri, from the FIR, who was earlier named as the key accused in the firing incident.

The government of Punjab has constituted a judicial commission to look into the deadly incident.
