Actress Kismat Baig laid to rest in Lahore

LAHORE: Funeral prayers of stage actress Kismat Baig offered in Lahore and she was laid to rest in a local graveyard on Friday night, ARY News reported. 

It should be noted that the armed men targeted Kismat Baig in Harbanspura area of Lahore, as she was returning home after a busy workday with her secretary, who was also injured in the attack. She succumbed to her injuries at a hospital during treatment.

The autopsy report revealed that the slain actress received at least 12 bullets in the attack.

Kismat Baig’s dead body was handed over to her relatives on Friday night. Heart-wrenching scenes were witnessed when the body reached her house.

Her funeral prayers were offered at a mosque attended by her relatives and large number of fellow artists. She was laid to rest at a graveyard in Lahore last night.

Baig’s secretary told the investigators that the armed men initially tried to drag the actress out of the vehicle before they opened fire. Baig’s secretary also claimed that the gunmen attacked him before the actress on the fateful night.
