LHC extends ban on Indian films, dramas

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended the stay order of ban on Indian films, dramas and television programs till 16th December and summoned the lawyers of the parties in the case – ARY News reports on Thursday.

Justice Khalid Mehmood heard the petition filed by ARY News anchorperson Mubashir Lucman. Mubashir Lucman pleaded to the court that the Indian content cannot be aired on television without following the rules and regulations but they are still being aired with the connivance of the Pakistan Censor Board.

He claimed that the Chairman of Censor Board would be responsible if the films are exhibited.

The court remarked that strict actions will be taken if the court orders are violated. The court also extended the stay order of ban on Bollywood content till 16th December and summoned the lawyers of the parties in the case.

Directors and Producers of Pakistani film industry were present during the hearing.
