Butt earned wrath of different segments of society when he was captured live by TV channels smashing public property during a clash between Pakistan Awami Tehreek activists and police in Model Town on June 17 that claimed over 20 lives, most of them the PAT members.
The release orders for Butt were issued by the two-member bench of the LHC. Butt is also asked to submit two security bonds worth Rs 0.1 million each.
A division bench of the LHC had sought investigation record from police on a bail plea by Butt on August 5.
His counsel had submitted that he was mentally unstable, adding that the police had wrongfully implicated him in the case.
