RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army’s senior most official, Lieutenant General Haroon Aslam resigned from his post earlier today – ARY News reports.
Sources told that Lt. Gen. Haroon Aslam resigned on account of being superseded by Lt. Gen. Raheel Sharif, who was appointed as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday.
Lt. Gen. Raheel Sharif was the 3rd most senior official, who was promoted to the rank of General and designated as the new Army Chief, while Lt. General. Haroon Aslam was 1st on seniority basis.
