Lt. Gen. Sajjad Ghani appointed as Corps Commander Karachi

RAWALPINDI: High level appointments and transfers were reported to be made in the Pakistan Army on Tuesday.Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani was appointed as the new Corps Commander of the Fifth Corps (Karachi), in place of Lieutenant General Aijaz Chaudhry – ARY News reports.

According to the Spokesperson of Pak-Army, Quarter Master General, Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani was appointed as new Corps Commander Karachi, while Lieutenant General Muhammad Lateef was made new Quarter Master General.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Aijaz Chaudhry was appointed Inspector General Arms at the General Head Quarters (GHQ).

It was further reported that a meeting of the formation commanders of the Pak-Army will be held on Wednesday, which would be chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.

Sources told that the meeting will be focused on the results of the Azm-e-Nau war exercises and military’s professional affairs will also be discussed by the commanders.

Formation commanders will also ponder upon the war against terrorism and the overall security situation of the region.
