The suspect Bahram Baloch belonged to the Arshad Pappu group, and is involved in a range of crimes including murder, assault and extortion.
He was under treatment at a private hospital in Soldier Bazaar after receiving a bullet wound, when law-enforcement agencies raided after receiving information.
He was taken into custody after consultation from the doctors after taking his health into consideration. He will be moved to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. Police have also seized his records into custody.
