KARACHI: As the nation observes the first death anniversary of iconic social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, people from all social strata paid a fitting tribute to his devoted service of humanity.
The renowned humanitarian and Edhi Foundation Chairman Abdul Sattar Edhi died at the age of 88 in Karachi on July 8 last year due to kidney failure. He was laid to rest at Edhi village.
People from wide sections of the society, including politicians and civil rights campaigners, took to the social networking site to tweet their tribute to the philanthropist who devoted his life for the welfare the unprivileged and deprived class of society.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan also endorsed a campaign by ARY News to declare the anniversary of Edhi as ‘National Charity Day”.
